THE 172nd TERM / January 7th, 2017 / NO.14/ FAREWELL SPEECH

Mr. Wan-ki Min

Senior

Kyunghee Univ.

The 173rd Term President

Good afternoon, PTCians, how are you spending your Winter vacation so far? I’ve been busy lately due to my Winter semester in school. Plus, being the President of this club was even more nervous than expected. It won’t be true if I believed that everything would be easy in this well-organized club. Anyway, I’m Wanki Min once again, elected as the President for the next four months.

My history is relatively long in PTC, from 2014 until this day. I have a bunch of unforgettable memories, met awesome friends, and got rid of the fear of presenting in front of people. However, I had only one thing in my mind that led me to be the leader of this club, which is English. We still remain as an English conversation club, whether you’re good or not, but I think the skills don’t automatically increase just by your participation in Regular meetings. We have many skillful staff members to help you out with your writing skills, but when it comes to speaking, your mostly all on your own.

That is why I want to emphasize two kinds of communication. First is academic communication. We cannot make you increase your English abilities at once, but we can help you to practice by creating many helpful sections. For example, we are planning to enhance the speaking skills of the blooming presiders by making them summarize what their group has talked about and present it out loud to the rest of us.

The second one is social communication. As I told you during my campaign speech, my staff and I will always be ready to listen to your thoughts and share ideas to make this club a better place. If you feel kind of stuffy to share your problems with us, you are welcome to leave small notes to us so we can consider it around the clock.

Thank you once again for trusting me to be your president for the next 173rd Winter Term. I hope every one of you can have a pleasant time and make unforgettable memories just like I once did.
